Meet Dave Gnotta... the man behind Milano Organics.

You might recognize him. And if so, it's probably because he's been coming to the Liberty Lake Farmers Market for years with his wife Silvia. She makes the gorgeous beaded jewelry at Silvia's Design.

We asked Dave to tell us a little more about his new spice business, and here's what he had to say:

Well, here is a little background on me and what everyone can expect to find at Milano Organics.

"My grandparents immigrated from a small farming village north of Milan Italy. In my grandparents time, multiple generations of a family shared one large house on the farm.
It was the culture of the time that when one migrated to America, families often forbid teaching their native language to children and grandchildren because they were "Americans" now and they wanted the pride of having their children growing up speaking english. Times have of course changed and I wish that my skills included speaking Italian.

With Milano Organics my goal is to bring a wide range of healthy organic products to the market. Offering  more than 50 organic spices (including 10 "hot" spices for who like their food that way) 15 Organic Teas and a variety of un-sulfured organic dried fruit.

Milano Organics will offer a much wider range of healthy organic products than one can currently find at the local supermarket. Just taking in the aroma of these organic spices and teas is an eye opener. The freshness is immediately noticeable.

A lot of studies have been done and much has been written about the use of sulphur dioxide gas as a preservative in dried fruit (and other products). Children with sulphur sensitivities getting rashes, headaches, upset stomachs; children with asthma having more sever and more frequent asthma attacks when consuming products that use this type of preservative. And while there is no proven link yet between sulphur dioxide and ADD and ADDH in children, studies have proven that kids with ADD & ADDH improve dramatically when put on a strict diet that removes these types of preservatives. The World Health Organization has been pressing for this type of preservative to be phased out. "Acceptable Daily Intake" standards have been set. But recent studies show most children between 2 and 5 years old already consume 3 times that "Acceptable Daily Intake" standard. At Milano Organics we provide your kids with healthy non-sulphured organic dried fruits. Fruit snacks if you will.

For our friends looking for certified Kosher spices and teas .... look no further. Milano Organics offers spices and teas that are certified by Kosher Certification Services.

I am very excited to be bringing Milano Organics to the Liberty Lake Farmers Market!

See you at the market!"
