How many different varieties of cherries are there? Worldwide there are hundreds of varieties, three are the most prevalent are Bing, Rainer and Royal Anne.  How Do I find the best cherries? Choose firm fruit with deep color. avoid bruised or soft fruit. How do I store my cherries? Unwashed fruit should be able to keep in your refrigerator for up to a week. Be sure to wash right before eating as water can cause the cherry to soften and split.
